Did you know you can check the name of your current CTP provider on your vehicle registration notice? Remember, if you want to switch to a new CTP insurer, do this before renewing your registration. Otherwise, your previous insurer will provide CTP cover until the next renewal. It is simple to go online to change insurer.
CTP extras in Qld
Under the current Qld CTP scheme, drivers at fault may not get as many benefits as other drivers. However, all CTP insurers in Qld offer a free extra benefit on top of CTP. This is known generally as At-Fault Driver Cover:
- Allianz – At Fault Driver Protection
- QBE – DriverProtect
- RACQ Insurance – At Fault Driver Injury Insurance
- Suncorp Insurance – Driver Protection Cover.
At-Fault Driver Cover provides further cover for the driver at fault in an accident. For example, insurers pay lump sum benefits for certain injuries or a sum in case of death.
